"Birds, Bee's, Critters and Trees" Workshop, Thursday, March 24th, 2022, 5:30pm, Au Train Township Hall, Au Train. Select the best trees and native plants for wildlife and keep invasive plants out of your landscape; prep your site; recognize forest pests and design your own pollinator plot!
2022 Annual Meeting, Election of Directors and Banquet, Thursday, March 31st, 2022, 5:30pm, Moose Lodge, Munising. Join us for an evening of conservation conversation. Chat with ACD's board of directors and staff, bid on silent auction items, vote in our director election and enjoy a buffet dinner. Our guest speaker is Heather Shaw, DNR Wildlife Biologist, avid bird hunter and tour guide for chef Gordon Ramsay and National Geographic show "Uncharted".

Fruit Tree Health and Pruning Workshop, Saturday April 16th, 2022, 9:30-11:30am, Superior Central School - meet in the south parking lot. Learn to prune and shape your young trees, rejuvinate your old, neglected trees, fertilize & spray properly and perform maintenance pruning.

"Wild About Wildflowers" Workshop, Saturday June 11th, 2022, Alger County Fairgrounds, 10:00-11:30am. Native plant guru Vern Stephens of Designs by Nature presents a fun workshop that’ll hone your knowledge of native plants and pollinator gardens!
Wildflower Sale Pickup, Saturday June 11th, 2022, Alger County Fairgrounds, 9:30am-12noon. (Order deadline May 20.)
Free E-waste and Freon Appliance Collection, Friday, June 17th, 4:00PM-8:00PM and Saturday, June 18th, 8:00am-12:00pm in the Munising High School Parking Lot, 810 M-28, Munising. See the event flyer below for more details!
"Forestry for Michigan Birds" Workshop, Friday, July 15th, 2022, E1660 Hwy M-28, Deerton, 9am - 4pm. Presentations by FAP Forester, Sara Kelso and ABC Forester, Michael Paling in the morning and field tours in the afternoon to discuss forestry practices for bird habitat. Lunch and snacks included.
"Plant for Pollinators" Workshop and workday, part of the Urban Agriculture Workshop Series, Friday, September 9th, 2022, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Join the Marquette County and Alger Conservation Districts help our pollinators! Meet us at the Alger CD parcel in Chatham on Gladstone St., just south of Marquette St. intersection, to plant a native garden. Snacks and refreshments provided, but please bring a shovel and gloves.
Pick up for the Urban Ag Garden Winners will be just before, at 5:00pm!
ACD staff will be there with expert tips and advice on how to support local pollinators and plant a native wildflower garden!

• Learn about the relationship between pollinators and our food systems
• Learn about invasive species and the benefits of planting native
• Learn about NRCS programs and pollinator assistance
• Get hands on experience helping us plant our native pollinator garden at this site!
• Winners of the Free Pollinator Garden contest can pick up their flats at this event beginning at 5:00pm
